NEW! A Catholic Moms Prayer Group
You don’t have to do motherhood alone. Come pray with us.
Starting in October 2026, Catholic Moms Group is bringing moms together virtually for one simple reason: to PRAY.
Whether you have little ones, big kids, grandchildren—or children who are grown and out of the house…
Whether you work outside the home, stay home, homeschool, or find yourself in a completely different season of motherhood…
YOU’RE INVITED.
Sometimes a mom just needs a place to pray.
So, come as you are. From the comfort of your own home. After supper. After the kids are in bed. Take a break from the scrolling and the busyness and spend a little time with Our Blessed Mother and other Catholic moms.
THE CATHOLIC MOMS PRAYER GROUP
1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month
8:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Virtual — join us from wherever you are
It’s free. And you don’t have to belong to a Catholic Moms Group to participate.
MEET THE MOMS WHO WILL LEAD US IN PRAYER
ANNA LISA ATHAIDE
Anna-Lisa Athaide has been married for over 21 years and is the proud mother of three teenage daughters, including a set of twins. A hospital pharmacist who also supports her husband’s medical practice, she balances her professional life with a love for staying active, drawing, painting, and reading. Deeply involved in the Moms Group Ministry for many years, Anna-Lisa led a group from 2017 to 2023. The Rosary is her favorite form of prayer, and she takes great joy in the spiritual fruits that come from a dedicated prayer life and journeying alongside fellow Catholic mothers.
MARTHA MCAVOY
Martha McAvoy has been married for over 21 years to her husband Lawrence and is proud Mom to her son Isaac. An elementary school teacher with the DCDSB for almost 30 years, she delights in teaching young learners in kindergarten. She is a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Brooklin, and is blessed to be a member of the Pastoral Visiting Team. Martha enjoys getting together with her large extended family, going for coffee with friends, and spending time in nature. She looks forward to joining you in this powerful prayer ministry!
SANDRA TURRIAGO
Sandra Turriago was born in Colombia and has lived in Canada for the past 25 years. She has been married for 25 years and is blessed with three boys.
For the past six years, Sandra and her family have called New Brunswick home. During that time, she made a big career change and became a Red Seal Carpenter—something that has been quite an adventure!
Sandra and her family enjoy being involved in their parish. Some of the ministries they have served are Eucharistic Minister, church council, creating slides for mass songs, while her boys have been altar servers and readers at Mass. As a family, they also help with Friday evening Adoration, which has been a beautiful blessing for them.
Sandra has experienced many blessings and graces through the Rosary, but she admits that praying it every day can sometimes be a challenge. That’s one of the reasons she is especially happy to be part of this group. She looks forward to praying alongside other mothers, encouraging one another, and growing together in this beautiful devotion to Our Lady.
Our children.
Our husbands and marriages.
Our families.
Those who have wandered from the faith.
Health concerns.
Financial struggles.
Infertility.
Miscarriage and loss.
Grief.
Difficult seasons.
And we have so much to give thanks for, too.
Together, we’ll bring our petitions, our worries, our hopes and our thanksgiving to Jesus through the powerful intercession of His Mother, Mary.
We’ll pray for our families.
We’ll pray for one another.
And we’ll pray for the revival of motherhood as a vocation.
DIFFERENT HOMES. DIFFERENT FAMILIES. DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES.
ONE FAITH. ONE HEART. ONE MOTHER.
Come pray with us.
Help us spread the word!
